ICLC is a company and reports to the Australian Charities and Not-for-Profits Commission. The Centre is managed by a board of ten who are representative of the community it serves.

Management Structure and Relationship to the Community
The current Board of Management reflects the diversity of people who live in the inner city area as well as throughout Sydney including:
- gay and lesbian people;
- transgender people;
- local residents;
- members of the legal profession;
- ICLC volunteer lawyers / students; and
- Aboriginal / Torres Strait Island people.
The Centre promotes a partnership approach to service delivery. We have active partnerships with private solicitors and barristers, other community legal centres, other community service organisations and the Legal Aid Commission.
